The Flower

There is a flower,
Beyond my reach and sight,
Within my imagination,
Holding the key to tranquility,
Comfort, and
Protection.
And beyond that flower,
The unlocked world,
How would it be?

Would the birds
Forever chirp,
In the delight of a new morning,
Grass fresh,
Sprinkled in dew?

Would the air
Wrap around me,
Like a warm blanket,
Acting a shield,
To protect me from the unknown?

Would the grass
Brush against my feet,
The little bumps in the ground
Feeling disturbing at first,
But then begin to massage my calluses?

Would the wind
Blow away my worries,
Like a person blowing out a fire?
Would a good soul
Drive me away,
From inhumane actions -
War,
Genocide,
Slavery?

Would that be it?

Could that be it?

Should that be it?

Will that be it?

Galileo Galilei

Galileo Galilei was a man who forever changed the way that we look on the solar system (with help from Copernicus)!

Galileo Galilei,
Was a man of courage,
Was a man who tried.

He believed in Copernicus,
Who proclaimed the Sun did not revolve around the Earth,
But that the Earth revolved around the Sun - A new theory had given birth!

The church kept Galileo house locked,
For such a heretic belief,
The theory was only accepted by church,
300 years after his death - GOOD GRIEF!

Lived from 1564 to 1642,
Accomplished in Astronomy
While the other's had no clue.

He was the "Father of Astronomy"
Physics and Science too.
A hero he would soon be.
And to his beliefs he stayed true.

Galileo Galilei
Was a man of joy
Was a man of pride
Was 86 when he did die.

The Tornado

"Cover your heads!"
"This is just a precaution"
"You have nothing to worry about!"
"I miss my mommy!"
"I can't leave my daddy!"
"Don't leave me!"

What a tornado warning in an Elementary School sounds like.

Salty tears trickling down children's faces

What a tornado warning in an Elementary School tastes like.

Fear

What a tornado warning in an Elementary School feels like.

Worry on faces of everyone.

What a tornado warning in an Elementary School looks like.

Damp and Grey

What a tornado warning in an Elementary School smells like.

Relief

After the coast is clear. The tornado did not hit!

Ode to Aunt Angie

She gives me more hope than the Sun, Moon, and Stars.
She gives me more joy than a butterfly.
She gives me more happiness than a blossoming flower.
She gives me more love than cupid with a million arrows.
She gives me more luck than a four-leaf clover.
She gives me more spirit than a bird.
She gives me more confidence than a fighting bull.
She gives me more support than a cheerleader.

Her smile makes me laugh.
Her laugh makes me smile.
I will never want to leave her presence.

To A Great Teacher!

Must you always be so kind?
In the classroom, in my mind.
So understanding, so gentle
So, you being my teacher - was that just coincidental?

Such skills you have with kids all over
Helpful from Sacramento to Dover
You are...
Fun to learn from, Fun to be with,
Fun, Fun, Fun, Your learning fun is infinite!

Poor Mr. Woo!

There once was a man named Mr. Woo,
Who laughed as he went into the loo,
But when he did flush,
That's when he did hush,
Because the water had carried him too!

Mother Mayhem!

She makes me eat bad broccoli,
Stinky beans and carrots too.
She makes me do the laundry,
Even when I have the flu (ACHOO!)

Oh, some moms,
Can be so cruel.
"Healthy food" they cook,
Almost tastes like gruel!

Yuck!

She makes my life so miserable,
Yes she does - it's true.
She makes me do the dishes.
Again? Oh man. Boo Hoo!

Although there is something fine she does,
She puts a bandage on my cuts.
She is there by me 24/7,
And she's so kind that you'd go nuts!

I still love my mom, though,
Yes I do!
I want to be with her,
My whole life through!

When?

When will the truth come crashing down upon us?
When will the fear grow in number and size?
When will the people start realizing our own fate?
When will we realize that the end is nigh?

When will we realize the consequences?
Of being lazy and hanging around?
While our poor helpless Earth is dying,
Falling to pieces on the ground.

When will we realize that the Earth is at our feet?
And it’s happening before our very eyes.
When will we realize that the Earth is in danger?
Disappearing, without the help of you guys.

When will we realize that the Earth is our mother?
Cradling us to sleep with peace every night?
When will we realize that the Earth is our savior?
Protecting us, night by night.

When will they realize their own decisions?
Not too soon to say.
Because when we look upon the ground,
When we see everything safe and sound,
We think that everything will be okay.

But it won’t be.
Unless you help.

Unless you ask yourself , When?
And then answer, Now!
Unless you do it with your pride and good.
Until everything is as it should
Be, Peaceful

The Other Mother Nature

Calmness in the Creek,
Tranquilly transmitting,
Peace to all souls,
Just serenely sitting.

Peace in the Pond,
Quietly quilting,
A blanket of peace,
So eagerly willing.

Rhymes in the River,
Trickling ever so sweet,
Like tears just running,
Down your beautiful cheek.

Opportune in the Ocean,
Luckily, so loving,
Plated with platinum,
The heart of it, so admiring.

And overflowing with this beauty
(And Mother Nature too)
Is another loving mother,
Who cares for me so true.

With the love in heart,
Everlasting, so nice.
She who tucks me in bed,
And I sleep with peace for the night.
